Description

Newmarket – Outer Newmarket. Further out, on the e side again, Mesnil Warren, a large late c19 red brick house purchased by Lord Derby’s trainer, the Hon. George Lambton, c. 1908. Additional storey with balcony overlooking the gallops by Owen C. Little, 1912, and large extension of c. 1924–5 by Sir Edwin Lutyens to provide guest bedrooms and staff accommodation. Tall narrow windows and hipped roof with dormers. (Bettley, 2015, p.439)
