Leeds General Infirmary, Great George Street….ENTRANCE HALL, with small, French Gothic fireplace, continuing into a corridor whose roof trusses are supported on corbels sprouting medicinal plants carved by Brindley. Tripartite screen at the N end with a Romanesque arch between pointed openings, with polished granite columns. STAIRCASE HALL, with an Imperial cast-iron and stone stair, the return flights cantilevered and lit at first floor by tall three-light lancets with patterned glass by O’Connor of London, 1868. On the stairs a memorial to Lord Moynihan, 1938 by Lutyens, wiht a tondo holding a bust by Sir William Reid Dick. (Leach, 2009, p.419)Bibliography
